Social media opens up a wealth of possibilities for small not for profit associations and community groups. With access to a computer and some time they can spread their messages to a large community of friends, supporters and donors. All sorts of companies and associations need marketing support, not just consumer products. So how do you approach marketing for community events and social causes? This week we spoke to Steven Shattuck, the communications director for the Irvington Halloween Festival, about their marketing activities. Steve shared his perspective on how non profit associations and community events can use social media and video to build excitement and involvement in their event.
